Christmas at the Club House

One of the fun things that we were able to do this year was attend the Christmas Party that was put on by the Rancho Sahuarita Club House. First thing that we did when we got there was visit with Santa. This was Troy's first time sitting on Santa's lap. He was not a big fan. It did not last long and ended in tears. Justice is also not a big fan of Santa Clause, in fact she would not even stand close enough to get into the family picture.Next the girls all decorated a yummy Christmas cookie.
Face painting is one of the girls favorite things. Brooklyn picked out a cute snowman.While the girls were off making crafts, Dad and Troy were walking around.

Tumbleweeds

Another great season of tumbling for the girls. Its amazing to see how much they have learned over the last 6 months. Justice just loves the uneven bars. Brooklyn likes to give coach a hard time, no really she's a turkey. Georgie & Madison love the beam. Georgia showing off her medal.

Here's the whole crew carving up some crazy pumpkins. Justice, Maddy & Georgia are old enough now where they can pretty much do just about everything from cleaning out the pumpkins to cutting out the faces.

One thing that we did learn this year... Its way to warm here in October to carve pumpkins 2 weeks before Halloween. By day two our poor pumpkins were wilting away and after only a week they were turning black and moldy. Here we are with our finished products.

Spicy Bean Chili

I thought that it would be alot of fun to enter my chili in the Chili Cook off sponsored by Rancho Sahuarita. Justice came along and help me get everything all setup. It was alot of fun, I cant believe the number of people that showed up to try all the different chili's. In the end Our "Spicy Bean Chili" took home 3rd place, Yeah! Cant wait until next year to do it again.

Brooklyn decided to give T-ball a shot this season, so far she really likes it. Its been a challenge to keep Brooklyn from playing in the dirt when she's in the out Field. That girl loves to play in the dirt.

The one thing about Halloween is that their are always something fun to do with the kids. Matt and I took the kids up to The Marana Pumpkin Farm to pick out pumpkins and to run around in the corn mazes. I know I always say this... But wow where does the time go. Its so hard to believe that our baby is 8 years old. All Justice really wanted for birthday was to get her ears pierced. In the end Matt and I caved in, we really wanted to make her wait until she was 30. She was really nervous, but did great. Brooklyn and I took cupcakes into school for Justices birthday, and then Justice took more cupcakes in for all her friends at tumbling. Grandma & I made Justices favorite thing for dinner... Steak, shrimp and mashed potatoes, YUM ( mom's favorite too ) After diner Justice invited some of her friends over for more cake.

Happy Birthday Little Brother! Troys birthday started out with a visit to the Drs for his 1 year check-up. It was definitely a good day for Troy because they could not get him in for shots.. But Troy is doing great, he is 50th percentile for height but only 10th percentile for weight.

Apple Annies

This is the first time that Matt and I have been able to take the kids out to an apple orchard and pick apples. When we got there we grabbed a couple of buckets, a wagon and a apple picker "thing".
We picked a couple different kinds of apples, one for baking and some for eating. Then headed over to the peach fields to get some peach "nuggets"What a great time. We will be back!

Madera Caynon

Madera Caynon is about a 45 minute drive from our house. The temperature drops a good 20 degrees so you can escape the heat. Some friends and us took our families out for a hike. Here's our little man enjoying the ride. Here we are at the summit of our hiking trip. We stopped so the kids could play by the stream and get a snack.

Georgia Holds the Record

Its Official that Georgia holds the title for the most fish caught, 10 fish! I swear she would throw her line/worm and before you knew it she was reeling it in. All the other girls were getting alittle jealous, and Madison ended up putting her chair next to Georgia's. She was definitely on a roll.Brooklyn usually will fish no more than a minute or two, and then gets bored. But today she was able to keep the pole in the water long enough to catch her first fish ever. She was pretty excited

I am pretty sure that every parent tells their kids not to jump on the furniture or to throw things in the house. The Newson house is definitely no exception... We just knew that it would not be long for Brooklyn to be swimming on her own after Georgia and Madison no longer used their floaties. Sure enough she is swimming arcoss the pool without a problem. She is so brave that she even jumps into the pool without her floaties. Not quite a diver yet but I am sure that wont be long...

Pinnacle Peak

We went out to dinner with a bunch of friends at this cool place called Pinnacle Peak. The kids all wore ties, which the cowboys cut off during dinner. After dinner we let the kids ride the train around the old dust town. Here's a picture of all the kids.
After the kids got ice cream we watched a gun fight. Look at how scarred Brooklyn was, LOL.

Grandma & Grandpa D Come to Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Desautels came out to visit us for a couple of weeks. I am sure that the kids wore them out, but they had so much fun. Here is Grandpa, Maddy and Brooklyn at the club house pool. Grandma & the girls before heading out to tumbling.

Fathers Day

On fathers day we took the kids down to the lake and went fishing. Justice was quite the fisherman, she caught 3 sunfish and a big old catfish. She was so excited!
None of the girls are in the least bit scared of the worms or the fish. Here is Georgie with her sunfish. There was no way that the twins were leaving until they got a fish too. Here's Maddy with her big catch!Brooklyn of course being herself, got board with fishing. So she decided to play with the worms instead.

We fished until the worms were gone, and since no one got a hook in the eye I am sure that we'll be fishing again soon!

End Of The Year Soccer Party

To celebrate a great soccer season we had a pool/pizza party at the house for all the kids on both Team Narnia ( Twins & Brooklyn ) and Team Allstars. Each of the kids got a trophy with their names on it, and so did all the coaches. Here is Matt receiving his, he was pretty excited :)Georgia

Grand Caynon National Park

On our way back to Arizona we took a detour and spent our 12 year anniversary in the Grand Canyon. As you can see the drive was long....

We took a short vacation up to Utah for Brandon's High School graduation. Unfortunate I did not get one picture of Brandon with his cap and gown on.

These two little crazy girls can really dive. Thats basically how they started to swim on their own... They would throw in a ring next to the stairs, dive down and get it and then come back up. Before you know it they were throwing it into the deep end and collecting ALL the rings.

Phoenix Zoo

Note to self... Never go to the zoo in May, lol. We actually got to the zoo when it opened up because we knew that it was going to get hot, but it didn't matter. Within an hour the kids were hot, tired, hungry and the list goes on.

Georgia and Madison received a couple of new pets for their birthday
They are hermit crabs. The orange one is Georgia's crab, Shelly. The brown and tan one is Madison crab, Crabby. Crabby has a big pincher claw and has pinched each of the girls pretty good. Brooklyn has the pink shell. The pink one is really shy, at first we thought that it might be dead, but the crabs are nocturnal and do move around at night.

I cant believe that Georgia and Madison are 6. The years are flying by...
Madison and Georgia told us they wanted eggs and bacon for breakfast and wanted the whole family to come in and wake them up. That's what we did! Brook and I got up at 5:15 made bacon & eggs then blew up balloons. Then got Matt, Justice, Troy and King into the twins room to wake them up with a "Happy Birthday". Later on that day Brook and I took cupcakes to school so that Georgia and Madison could celebrate with all their friends. After school the girls opened presents. We didnt stay home long because the girls wanted to go to Peter Piper Pizza to play and have dinner. After that we took a drive up on base so that the girls could see Matt. Matt took us all for a drive in the "truck" around the flight line. The girls loved it.

Kindergarten Class Of 2010-2011

I am just so proud of Georgia, Madison and Justice. Matt and I are so very proud. This morning we attended the Kindergarten Graduation. It started off with all 7 of the classes singing songs and then we went back to the students class rooms.
When we arrived to Madison and Georgia's class Mrs O'Brien handed out the kids Kindergarten Graduation certificates. Madison also received awards for Star Reader, Student of the Month for May and Perfect Attendance for 4th Quarter. Georgia received also got Star Reader, Student of the Month for April and Perfect Attendance for 4th Quarter.

Later on that evening we all headed back down to school for Justice's Cheetah Presentation. Justice modeling the cheetah mask that she made.Its been a great school year and I cant believe how much each of the girls has grown. Wow, cant believe that the school year is already over.

Birthday Party

Georgia and Madison had a great turn out for their birthday party. So many of their friends came to celebrate. Our friend Jeanie, Arden and the girls getting the pinata and the goody bags ready for the party. We tried to setup the party using a carnival theme; face painting, bouncer, can toss and water squirt game. After games the kids all took a couple of swings at the pinata. Here is the best picture that I could get of the girls and all their friends.

The party was a success, thank goodness it only lasted 2 hours.

Mothers Day

What a great Mother's Day. I just love my family so much. I woke up to breakfast in bed,; bacon and eggs. My favorite. The girls all make such wonderful presents at school. They were so excited about them. Later on that day the girls and I planted my mothers day presents; a lemon tree, flower that Brooklyn picked out and a rose tree. Here are some picutes of the girls trying to dig up the very hard ground.

Happy Easter. Next year the Easter Bunny needs to hide the baskets alittle harder, because within a minute the girls found all of them. Of course the girls were up super early, eagerly waiting for Matt and I to drag ourselves out of bed.

Happy Birthday Matt! What a busy but fun day! We started the day off with the Jelly Bean Jog, then headed off to Mnt. Lemmon. Its about a 45 minute drive to the base of the mountain and then another hour or so to the top. The veiw is beautiful and unlike much of Arizona its really green at the top. Here are Matt and the girls enjoying the view from one of the many stops on the way to the top.
After our drive we came home and had dinner and cake. Happy Birthday Matt! We love you so much!

Jelly Bean Jog

Justice & Matt got up early and headed down to the Sahuarita club house for the Jelly Bean Jog 5K. Let me just say that we are so proud of Justice... She finished with out walking and manage to run 10 minute miles! She only asked to walk once, but Matt was able to encourage her to finish without walking.

Swimming 101

Matt has been working with all the girls teaching them to swim on their own. Justice picked it right up and has been swimming like a pro. She has even gotten the courage to jump into the pool without her floaty on.Maddy trying to master the doggy paddle.

Our Lady Bugs and Butterflies

For Christmas the girls got Insect land. We sent off for the caterpillars and the lady bug larva. We got to watch the change from caterpillars to cocoons and then into butterflies. We watched the lady bugs grow from bugs to a cocoon then into lady bugs. It was really neat and I am sure the girls will want to do it again. Once the butterflies and lady bugs had changed we took them to the park to set them free. Here is Madision walking to the park.

Anza Trail Fun Night

The Arizona Distance Classic Half Marathon

This is the first time I have ever run a 1/2 marathon. My goal was to finish without walking, and I did it! I ran it in 2 hours and 12 minutes, which was alot better than I thought I would do. Let me just say that I have the best little fans in the world cheering me on

This was a pretty awesome picnic that the Base put on. There was so much for the kids to do; pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and a petting zoo. Here is Brook, Maddy and Georgia with a miniature pony.Justice with her friend Arden trying to hold that poor bunny.

Fishing

The community we live in puts on a fun activity for family's to fish at the lake. We all got up early to make in down to the lake by 7am. The girls were all able to buy a new fishing pole, which come to find out we were not well pre-pared. We had no tools to cut the line or pliers to put the sinkers on with. In the end Matt's teeth worked just as good, LOL. The morning was actually alot colder than we expected it to be, so we all froze. We did not get so much as a bite, the girls didn't seem to mind. They had fun just reeling the line back in.

One thing that I am really thankful for is that all the girls are so loving to Troy. They really do just love him to pieces. Matt let Brooklyn take Troy for a couple spins around the house in the stroller.

Some Fun At The Park

We took the girls to the park right around the block, played some ball,tag & flew a kite. If you look close enough to the picture you can see Brooklyn riding her scooter through the grass. Madison did lose her grip on the handle and the kite went flying into a tree. I thought it was a goner for sure, but Matt was able to get it out.

Since we have been in Arizona we have not been to see Matt, and his new jet... The A10. The girls and I took dinner up and spent some time in his new office. We took a tour around one of the hangers.

I dread the Dentist

Ok, the good news is that no one had cavities. In fact everyone is doing a good job brushing their teeth. The bad news is Madison had to get one of her baby molars pulled. About a year ago Madison had to get a silver crown put on a molar. Come to find out she has an infection on it. We had no idea, shes never complained once about it hurting. I guess that its so serious that they did not even want to wait for a follow up appointment. They pulled it right then and there. She was so brave, never even cried. She was so excited to put her tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy.

Spring Break

The girls have been on Spring Break all week. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go swimming at the Club house.

Thank goodness Matt is so good at this kind of thing. Justice's homework was to build a leprechaun trap. So Matt and Justice came up with this box that spins round and round, once the lepreachan takes the gold. It was pretty cute and Justice says that all her friends loved it.

Just a cute picture of "Spicy Bone". Thats our new nickname for Brooklyn. She was only able to build the blocks this tall once. I took Brooklyn in for her 4 year old check-up, and she is doing great. Of corse she is tiny, only in the 10th percetile for her height and 5th for weight.

Brooklyn had to get 4 shots, but was easy to bribe with a shake.

Rodeo

The Rodeo is huge in Arizona, and the comminuty that we live in put on a little rodeo for all the kids. They had great food, face painting, petting zoo, train, bounce house and more.

Valentines Day

This year for Valentines Day we made pink waffles. We actually did not have a waffle maker so I had to get one, and its paid for itself ten fold. Matt's pancakes are a thing in the past. The waffles were of course pink, and we topped them off with whip cream, strawberries and pineapple.

Happy Birthday Brooklyn! Wow, 4 years old! I cant believe that my little baby girl is getting so big. Here is Brooklyn's rainbow cake.
OK, so brooklyn didnt really get a bumper for her birthday, Matt just thought that it would be funny to have her open it. When she did she had a puzzled look on her face. Matt asked her if she liked it and she said "Yes, what is it? " Really funny.Brooklyn and Madision while we are singing happy birtday.

A couple of Things about Brooklyn:
She is SO sneaky, if you cant hear her then she's definetly up to no good.
Brooklyn is a dare devil, no fear in that girl at all.
BookerBee loves hot & spicy food. Especially Chilli. The other day she was playing with the play kitchen, she brings her dad a plastic chicken and tells him its a spicy bone.
Brooklyn loves to color, play her DS, take baths and has mastered the two wheel scooter. She is a good little sister, meaning she takes her sisters stuff all the time, LOL.

Jamie Comes to Visit

Jamie drove back from Vegas with me and was able to stay a couple of extra days. We didn't do a whole lot, mostly just hung out. This is the first time that Jamie got to meet Troy. Here is Jamie Madison and Troy. Aunt Jamie and the girls wrestling around.

Las Vegas

I had such a fun time in Las Vegas with Jamie and Tracy. I drove up from Tucson and Jamie and Tracy flew in. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Just enough time to be sick and tired of Las Vegas. We were able to go to a couple of shows; Zumanity and Hypnosis Unleashed ( which by the way is the funniest thing I have ever seen ). Here we are going into Zumanity. On our way down to see Zumanity we saw Micheal Jackson, not really of course. Jamie got a picture with him. She was histatic.One of the nights we went to the Belagio and had dinner at "The Olives". The food was great.
Jamie made these pants for Tracy and I. They are "Katnis" pants. If you have read the Hunger games you'll understand.
It was a great time!

Sick Little Guy

Poor little Troy has been so sick and miserable. He has had the worst cough and runny nose. Matt took him in to get looked at and its a good thing because he has bronchitis. They put him on a nebulizer to help his cough.
He doesn't like the mask, but its helped his cough out.

This is just the beginning of all the things that we'd like to do to the house. We are painting and replacing all the carpet in the bedrooms. The first room that we are tackling is the twins bedroom. Here we are taking everything out and removing all the old trimMadison and Georgia are getting a pink room.

Matt is working on patching up the hole that was once a opening into the 3rd car garage. Just need to finish texturing the wall, install the trim and paint.

Anza Trail

The girls seem to really like their new school. Its definitely alot bigger than Clinton Elementary with well over 1000 kids. So far I am pretty impressed with all the fun things that they do with the kids and family's. Justice is holding onto a snowman that we made at family night. This school also required uniforms which in a way is nice because you always know what you are going to wear. I just need to make sure that I stay on top of the never ending pile of laundry.

Time to start unpacking... Georgia and Madison have all day kindergarden so its BookerBee, Troy and I during the day. I have put Brook to work, wiping down the kitchen and lining all the cabinets.
Troy is getting so big. He's 4 months old now. He's been a fussy little guy. We are all hoping that he grows out of that soon!

So much to do, but we love our new house.

Twins Earned Their Scooters!

When Justice turned 7 and got her electric scooter the twins both cried and cried... Matt and I told the girls that if they saved up half ( 50 dollars ) that we would get them an electric scooter too. They have been saving and helping around the house trying to earn a dollar here and there and finally they have both done it. Matt and I actually bought the scooters a couple of months ago when we say these really cute pink ones.

Of course it's our luck, the weather was terrible the day we were leaveing for the big move down to Arizona. Matt, Justice, Madison and Brooklyn left at 8 am that morning. They ended up stopping at Nats because the weather was so horrible. I had to work that day and ended up leaving with Troy and Georiga when I got off. By then Matt and the girls were 3 hours south and on there way. I picked Nat up on my way. It was a very long day and night. The roads were so bad that we were only doing 30 miles an hour. Matt and the girls pulled in around 3 while Nat and I arrived at 6 am in the morning. Later on that morning Becky and Dave showed up with some much needed breakfast. Everyone unpacked for most of the day. Not one of us made it to Midnight to ring in the New Year.

So happy to start 2011 in our new house all together!

Merry Christmas

This year the girls wokeup at 2 am to see if Santa had come. ( Just imagine if Justice had gone to bed at 8 like she wanted to ). Matt and I let the girls open up there stocking but told them to wait on presents. They were so excited that santa had come. This is what all the girls looked like when Matt and I came down Christmas morning. The one thing that all the girls asked Santa for this year was a beaty set.

Every year we make pizzas and this years were the best yet! We didn't do anything crazy just lots of cheese ( we are Newson's ), mushrooms and olives. Here is BookerBee waiting for hers to come out of the oven. Looks like King's waiting too!

After pizza's we put together our Christmas Lego Village. While we were at Lego Land we bought a Christmas village, in the past we have built ginger bread houses. The down fall to lego village was that we needed more than a couple of hours (ended up finishing it on Christmas). Then it was time for new Christmas PJ's. Justice was asking to go to bed by 6pm. She was so anxious for Santa to come. Here is Troy with his new Christmas pj's.

The time is here. We are getting ready to move to Arizona. The nice thing about moving into the rental is that we never really unpacked. We have already went thru everything and gotten rid of alot. But still... The thing that keeps us going is just knowing that we are moving out of this stinky, small and unfunctional rental.The kids are excited to move, but still they are all sad to leave Utah. We are going to miss the great freinds that we have made here. The twins kindergarden class made them this cute poster. They just love there teacher Mrs. Phillips and their friends.

Decorating Our Tree

It's not so much the perfect tree that you remember but the "not so perfect" one. Back in October we took some of our stuff to arizona, all the christmas decorations. Fortunatly we did not take everything... This little tree got left behind. We used all the ornaments that the girls had made and decorated it.
The tree was quite a sight, but it worked. The girls could have cared less..... they loved it!

Thanksgiving

What a fun Thanksgiving! We decided to drive out to California and visit Becky and Dave for the holidays. Becky cooked, and it was fabulous. After filling our selfs up Matt and Troy watched football(took a nap) while Becky and I took the girls swimming. The girls all started out in the pool but ended up having way to much fun playing in the showers.Aunt Becky Troy and Justice.
The Next day we went to LegoLand. It was a lot of fun, much different from other amusement parks. The girls are checking out the whitehouse made out of Lego's. They had these all over the park. Its really amazing.
Because we did not have time to do the Sealife we went back the next day.

The drive home was crazy. The weather was horrible. When we reached AZ and into Utah we hit a huge snow storm. There were a ton of accidents and people all over the road. We made it home safely, just took much longer.

One step Closer

Its official. We have a mortgage again, LOL. We just got the letter from the bank saying that they have accepted our offer. We have been pretty nervous about the whole thing because it was a short sale and everyone told us from the get go that they can take up to 6 months. We have alot of work to do, but can't wait to move out of this rental!

For the last 3 weeks Grandma Newson has been here visiting. She met little bud for the first time. The girls and Grandma did a lot of coloring, beads, and singing Christmas music. The girls showed her all their moves, took lots of walks, and just spent time together.
We are lucky to have such a great family!! We love you Grandma!!!

Matt and I took Troy in for his 2 month check up. Its official, we make shrimps. Troy weighed in at 11.1 pounds and was 22.75 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile. This basically where all the girls sit as far as height and weight go. The Dr says that Troy is doing great. Of course he did not like the shots, but I can't say that I blame him.

Monte Cristo With The Family

We all took advantage of what looks like the last nice weekend before the cold winter sets in. We headed up to the mountain, Monte Cristo. Grandma, Aunt Nat, Drew and Brandon all came.Nat,Drew and Brandon did some shooting with the guns.
Drew hit the can on the first shot. WOW! Brandon was pretty good too. He hit every can that was setup. Nat took a little longer to get a can….
Matt took his mom out for a ride in the rhino. They hit some snow and did a couple of hill climbs. The word on the street is that grandma wants a rhino............ Then we all just took the four wheelers out and messed around. Justice is getting to be quite the dare devil riding down this huge hill. Pretty much scared the crap out of me. Matt of course... was a proud father.
It was a little windy up there, but it was great to get out one last time.

Happy Halloween! This is such a fun time for the girls. They just love to get dressed up in costumes and of course get candy. We started out on Friday by heading up to my work, trick or treating and decorating cookies. Then we headed up on Base for "The Haunting On The Hill". The girls had fun playing games and winning candy.

You have to just love all the fun things to do for Halloween. Carving pumpkins is one of them. Georgia was not a big fan of cleaning the pumpkin out. She does not like all the seeds and slimy pumpkin guts. Brooklyn of course had no issues. She got right to work and dug in. Justice is getting to be so independent. She even cut most of her pumpkins face out by herself. Here is Madison trying on her pumpkin.

Our first Trip to AZ

We took a family trip down to Arizona over the weekend to take a load of stuff to a storage unit, look at houses and to get alittle familiar with the area. The drive down was really long, 18 hours. The girls of course swam every night at the hotel. We found a house that I love and put in an offer. Its a short sale so we will have to wait and see what happens.

Hee Haw Farms

Nat's work put on a Halloween event at Hee Haw Farms. This is the second year that we have been able to go. We headed over to see Aunt Nat, who was handing out the donuts. Most of the time at the farm the girls spend on the slides. The girls love the big slide!
Then it was over to the Trick or Treat hay ride. We sat on the wagon and were bombarted by candy being tossed in from every which way. Then Justice, Brooklyn and I headed over to the corn maze, which we did in record time!

Black Island Farm Feild Trip

Brooklyn's preschool class spent the morning at Black Island Farms. First we all took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin. Here is Brooklyn with her pumpkin. What a little poser she is....nothing but attitude!After getting back from the wagon ride Brooklyn headed out with her friends and played on all the sides, the bounce house and cow train.

Justice had the best birthday ever, that's what she told Matt on her way home from school. When Matt asked her why, she said all of her friends loved the donuts she brought to school and they made her a big happy birthday sign. Best of all, she got a electric scooter for her birthday.

Brook and MOM made cupcakes for Justice, and then some of the neighbor friends came over to sing happy birthday. Didn't compare to grandma's telephone singing message but it is the thought that counts.
